John Jones, aged 17, was hanged at Tyburn for breaking into the house of Mr. Reynolds of Chiswell Street and stealing silver and banknotes to the value of £200. Two weeks before execution Jones and six others had attempted to escape from Newgate, but were caught by the keeper, Mr. Akerman.
